Game of Thrones just ended its first season on HBO and has been a critical success to both reviewers and viewers. The intriguing and jaw-dropping show is based on the book series by George R. R. Martin and features mystery, fantasy, romance and science fiction plots to draw viewers into its plot.

The biggest shocker in season one of Game of Thrones had to be when the biggest star of the show, Sean Bean’s, character Eddard Stark, was beheaded. This is because in most TV shows, the most beloved star rarely dies; however, that is how the book was written and the script has remained very loyal to the plot in the book. Eddard Stark was killed on the request of Joffrey Baratheon, to set an example to the Kingdom that Joffrey had just become monarch of. This was a gut-wrenching and heart breaking scene, however, it was needed to further the plot and infuse the war that takes place.

Game of Thrones is an engaging and highly visual show, with the pilot episode costing over 3 million to make. The plot is complicated, the characters twisted and the language coarse and rude. And that is why viewers love the show. Simply put, HBO has another hit on its hands and viewers cannot wait until Season 2 debuts in April 2012.Still bored?

Two and a Half Men has had a bumpy road here for a while because of cast issues. On March 7, 2011, Charlie Sheen was fired for his colorful commentary about the show’s creator and producer. Many worried that this would mean the end for the series. However, CBS and Warner Bros. signed an agreement for the show for at least the 2011-2012 season. When the ninth season will air, but Charlie Sheen’s role will be taken up by Ashton Kutcher. How this will be accepted by the dedicated fans will be an interesting battle.This/tag helps explain it more. Everyone has come to love Sheen’s role in the series, by switching actors so late, the ninth season, it might create some feelings of dislike- even if he isn’t playing Sheen’s role directly. This show might go from being a 9:00 pm spot on Monday nights prime television time to being a slower spot, like Sundays at a earlier time. This change in character dynamics can go either way for the show in terms of ratings, which would be a shame since it has been ranked within the two 20 programs since its original airing in 2003. We will just have to wait and see what it will bring when the show returns for the 2011-2012 season.

Charlie Sheen has been in the tabloids and less reputable news outlets lately due to his controversial departure from Two And A Half Men. Since then he has been on a world tour of a one man show that so far doesn’t seem to have the gas to make it to the corner, let alone around the world.
His actions and words since his firing have created a space around him that people want to stay out of lest they catch his craziness. His friends, family and Hollywood executives aren’t the only ones he treats to his rants. He frequently rants and raves about the “trolls” doing everything from causing his career to spiral downward to bad service from the telephone company. His actions are being publicly and maliciously cited be as many tabloids as possible and have the feel of a “What to do to get committed” feel to them. Each time he appears online or on television in one of his many rants he looks more and more like a street junkie who has access to a web cam and unlimited funds.
Like some of the comments to some of the videos have said, “Get some help man!”

With so many people watching movies on demand and ordering movies through outside sources, television has becoming a thing of the past. Television shows are being slowly weeded out through a process of selection based on the interest of the viewer. Shows that offered family lessons and moral values are a thing of the past as there is more teenage material on television today. Gone are the days of Saturday night television with the family sitting and watching the same show. It is a reality that is becoming more prevalent in all homes. Full House presented life lessons with nearly every show that was on television, as well as Family Matters and The Wonder Years. These shows are among a generation that has been weeded out of the viewing era. Reality based shows are overtaking television stations, giving viewers the what if scenario, and then allowing them to vote for their favorite person. Cartoons for children are being weeded through as well. Beloved characters like Rainbow Brite and Care Bears are no longer shown for children to enjoy. Instead, there are cartoons that show violence. Television has changed drastically in recent years and as people make their choices, it will continue to do so.

The Office is a sitcom that is reminiscent of eating applesauce and pretending one has to chew. The characters are all dummies being played by Jerry Seinfeld who has a love affair going on with himself that would put another less affluent pervert in sing sing. The dead pan faces of all of the characters in the Office must mean something to those who watch and listen. The latest gag is finding a substitute for Steve Care ll. The writers of the Office are pushing for Catherine Tate since they want to play up on Prince William marrying a commoner name of Catherine and how common can you get with a dentist drilling the Office.
The scenario will probably not play that easily since Steve Care-ll may actually bite his dentist Tate before letting her sit in his throne. What seems to be a probably act is that watchers will finally find out what work the Office is into and decide whether Tate can drill her way into running the place. All the others have interviewed for the job which is about all the work they have done since being hired. I would like to apply for the job of Boss.

For anyone who has ever watched Family Guy, you know that creator Seth McFarlane is not only talented, but a varietied actor who enjoys his entertainment. Family Guy, along with another McFarlane creation American Dad, are two of the top shows featured on FOX’s Animation Domination on Sunday nights and it doesn’t look at those that will stop any time soon. FG itself has survived two cancellations and was brought back by fans and is now in syndication on several stations.

For those who don’t watch FG (all 2 of you, right?), the show is about the Griffin family and the crazy adventures they go through on a daily or even hourly basis. Think of the heyday of the Simpsons with more adult content and you have Family Guy. The show itself spoofs a lot popular culture, but also McFarlane’s obvious love for sight gags and musicals.

Several movies and pop culture have been featured in Family Guy – a nod to the Lord of the Rings trilogy (which is also spoofed in American Dad), Tom Cruise’s couch gag on Opera, Peanut Butter Jelly Time, viral Internet memes and videos, among others.

The most famous of these spoofs and affectionate parodies are with the Star Wars saga; in fact, there are three episodes in which Peter retells the Star Wars original trilogy – Blue Harvest (A New Hope), Something, Something, Something Dark Side (Empire Strikes Back), and It’s A Trap! (Return of the Jedi) – all three are known for their spot on recreations of the movies, not to mention having characters appear in different episodes.

Another thing about Family Guy is again, McFarlane’s love of musicals. Several have been spoofed – The Music Man, Little Shop of Horrors, Singin in the Rain, and the Sound of Music – as well as original songs. Brian has a great love of jazz and even did a night show act with Frank Sinatra, Jr (who played and sang as himself), while Meg became a pop star along with the family (spoofing family musical acts such as the Brady Bunch).

Family Guy appeals to many fans and viewers, especially those who are well aware of the references that are being made. And now…here’s Conway Twitty!
